The Kettering and Oyster Cove Residents Group, commonly known as KOCRES, is a loose association of residents who join together to contribute to the maintenance and development of the area as a good place for residents and visitors. This is a non-profit organisation which exists for the benefit of the community.

Annual General Meeting

Notice is given that our AGM will be held on Thursday 8 August commencing 7.30pm at the Kettering Community Hall.

All members are encouraged to attend.

New constitution and name for KOCRES

At the June meeting there was a vote to accept a new constitution including a change of name to Kettering Community Association (formerly Kettering and Oyster Cove Residents).

All present were in favour. There were twelve proxy votes, ten in favour and two against. The new constitution was therefore accepted.

In a vote seeking support to incorporate the association all those present were in favour, with ten proxy votes for, and two against.

Draft Constitution finalised

At the 6 May 2010 meeting of KOCRES, agreement was reached on a final draft of the constitution intended to form the basis for incorporation of the organisation. Members will be asked to vote on the adoption of this constitution and on incorporation at the June monthly meeting scheduled for 3 June. For those members unable to attend the meeting, proxy votes may be lodged, with a member of the committee, up to 7 days prior to the meeting.

Next Meeting 6 May 2010

The next monthly meeting of KOCRES will be held on 6 May 2010 commencing at 7.30pm at the Kettering Community Hall.

New constitution being formulated

A working group has been established to draw up a new constitution for the group. A draft will be circulated to members for comment during March. Once finalised, members will be asked to vote on using this new constitution as the basis for incorporation. It is expected that the vote will be conducted at our May meeting.

April Meeting Cancelled

The April meeting has been cancelled due to its proximity to Easter. The next meeting will be on Thursday 6 May commencing at 7.30pm at the Kettering Community Hall.

Meeting with Southern Water postponed

At our December General Meeting is was announced that members of the Committee would be meeting with Southern Water to discuss the recommendations arising from the Ferry Road - Little Oyster Cove Precinct Plan.

The meeting was originally scheduled for late December but has now been postponed to early January 2010.

Public Meeting on Precinct Plan

KOCRES has arranged a public meeting for 3 December 2009 at the Kettering Community Hall commencing 7.30pm to discuss Kingborough Council's response to the draft Precinct Plan produced by consultants SEMF.

Mayor, Graham Bury and General Manager, Paul West have both agreed to attend the meeting to outline Council's position and to discuss the way forward. This meeting should be of interest to all residents and business operators in Kettering. We look forward to a good turn out and a positive discussion.

The KOCRES December General Meeting will be held following the public meeting.
